Chezly ("Chezly," "we," "us," or "our") operates an online marketplace, currently serving the Chicago area, that connects customers with culinary students and recent culinary graduates ("chefs") who cook in-home meal prep and private dinners. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By using Chezly, you agree to the practices described here.
We collect the following categories of information:
Account information. When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, password (stored in hashed form by our authentication provider), and optionally your phone number. We use Supabase to manage authentication and store account data.
Information from Google Sign-In. If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from your Google account. We use this information solely to create and authenticate your Chezly account and to populate your profile. We do not use Google user data for advertising, and we do not sell it. Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Profile and service information. This may include your service address, kitchen access details, dietary preferences and notes, party size, and (for chefs) your culinary school, graduation year, bio, service areas, and uploaded photos of dishes and yourself.
Chef verification documents. If you apply to cook, we collect identity documents and food-handler or food-safety certifications you upload for verification. These are stored in a private, access-restricted location and are not publicly visible.
Payment information. Payments are processed by a secure payment processor. We do not collect or store your full card number or bank details on our own systems. Our payment processor handles payments, chef payouts, and identity verification for chefs, and may collect tax information as required by law.
Bookings, messages, reviews, and referrals. We store your booking history, in-platform messages exchanged after a booking is confirmed, reviews you write or receive, and referral codes and credits associated with your account.
Usage and technical information. We automatically collect log data, request identifiers, device and browser information, and error reports to operate, secure, and improve the service. If enabled, we use Sentry for error monitoring (with personal data scrubbed from error reports) and a rate-limiting service to protect against abuse.

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in these circumstances:
Between customers and chefs. To make a booking work, a customer and the booked chef can see information necessary to complete the service. For example, a customer's first name, service address, dietary notes, and booking details are shared with the assigned chef, and a chef's profile, name, and photos are visible to customers.
Service providers. We share information with vendors that help us operate the platform, including database, payment, email, hosting, and analytics providers. If enabled, we also use error-monitoring and rate-limiting providers. These providers process information on our behalf under their own terms and privacy policies.
Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Chezly, our users, or others.
Business transfers. If Chezly is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
